Hola chicas hope everyone had a great weekend! I attended the opening for Henri Bendel at the Houston Galleria on Friday and let me say it’s about time this NYC speciality store & accessory giant made it to Houston and the opening did not disappoint. As the first luxury retailer with an Upper Firth Ave address, Bendel’s is known for the legendary brown & white stripes and credited for bringing Coco Chanel and Lanvin to the US and the discovery of Andy Warhol. As if that isn’t enough reason to sample this girl’s playground the selection of gifts is beyond fabulous with candles, scarfs, jewelry and of course handbags.
I stopped by in the morning which allowed press & bloggers to chat with company reps including the president Chris Fiori and browse the lovely items before the crowd of the opening party. The staff was so warm and accommodating and by the time I returned in the evening for the party we all felt like old friends.
For the evening event we mixed and mingled with some of Houston’s most fashionable, sipped champagne and got to play in a photo booth for a flip book keep sake. Amongst all the fun I picked up a much-needed new wristlet which I will use as a wallet – my current one was in sad shape. I predict a return visit soon for a scarf and some bracelets can’t wait until my next visit.
I wasn’t in the mood to get all dressed up so I wore a nautical inspired number to the opening of the fabulous Henri Bendel! I wore a simple striped tank paired it with pink jeans cause my white ones were dirty lol and my go to snake skin flats even though I would have preferred a nice little slip on sneaker…I don’t have a single pair in my closet that I love anymore – might be time to find some new ones.
Thanks for stopping by chicas, have a great week and I would love to hear from you.
